I present this week likenesses of Percy R. Mott and Walter Jamison. Mott is a new luminary in the cycling sky, but his few performances have been brilliant and his future as a racer is bright. In build, manner and countenance he much resembles Julian Pye Bliss, the great Chicago racer. He rides for the Acme Club Wheelmen of Oakland, and added to the club's great list of victories at the Fabiola fete in Oakland, May 11, by winning the one-mile handicap, class A.
The Wheelmen - The San Francisco Call, 25 May 1895
The picture accompanying this article shows three of the fastest and best known class A riders in California, representing three of the largest cycling clubs — Percy R. Mott, Acme Club Wheelmen; Dan T. Whitman (of Los Angeles), Olympic Club Wheelmen, and Floyd A. McFarland, San Jose Road Club. The picture gives the impression of an actual race - Mott's side glance at Whitman's wheel, the latter's determined look, and McFarland with that celebrated hump on his back.

The Reliance Club Wheelmen will hold a ten-mile try-out to-day over the triangle course, starting at 2 o'clock. It is to select three more riders for the team for next Sunday's big race, and will be contested by Gooch, Elford, Griffith, Curtis, Brereton and probably several others. Yeoman and Bates have already been selected and Mott also, but the latter's parents objected to his riding in so long a race, and he was forced to give up the position.
