Those in the party were H. A. Westphal, Frank Hunter, G. L. Blackwell, T. Kennedy, J. A. Johnson, W. H. Haley, A. Moulder, W. J. Roderick, J. Morris and Henry Clay, all of the Olympic Club; Albert Brown of Seattle, and G. B. Haywards, G. J. Strong, Charles Euler, C. A. Moller, and F. M. Giannini, unattached. Lieutenant Robert R. Russ was in command, and carried the party by easy stages up White's hill and over the slopes of Tamalpais ridge into the redwoods at Lagunitas, where a plunge into the creek and luncheon were enjoyed. Brown, from Seattle, was a novice at hill work and was with difficulty kept from going up all manner of paths, so much did his safety zigzag. The next run of the Annex will be to Lake Pilarcitos on May 28th. A meeting of the Annex will be held tonight at the Olympic Club.
W. H. Haley, the second lieutenant, is perhaps the speediest rider in the club, and bids fair to develop into a great racing man.
William H. H. Haley is another good man who the Olympics expect much from. He is only nineteen years old and began riding only three years aim. Haley won first in the club tryout last Sunday and has just begun as a racer. He rides a Rambler and will go into the Midwinter Fair races.
William H. Haley of the Olympics has joined the Rambler team.
The Olympic Wheelmen will have Walter Foster, Robert K. Long and Will Haley to defend their colors in the class B events on Monday, and as Foster is anxious to redeem himself, on account of his sickness when at Denver, it is to be accepted as a fact that men entered against him in any of the events will be compelled to ride hard to keep him from winding handily.
The team consisting of Messrs. Foster, Wells, Haley, Terrill and Long will ride in all of the class B events at the Garden City on September 10th.
