Special.

Santa Cruz, May 12. - This afternoon Ralph Thompson, captain of the Pilot Wheelmen and ex-chiet consul of the [[San Francisco Bicycle Club|San Francisco Bicyclists]], met with a serious accident while coasting on his bicycle near Capitola. He fell from his wheel and struck his head against a rock. He is suffering from concussion of the brain. Dr. Morgan, the attending płysician, says that his recovery is probable. Thompson is a prominent young business man of this city, and was among the first organizers of bicycle clubs in this state.
